Hidden within the genealogy of Jesus are the stories of five remarkable women — Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary — whose lives reveal the grace, redemption, mercy, and faithfulness of God. Though each woman walked a very different path marked by heartbreak, courage, loss, obedience, or restoration, God intentionally wove every one of their stories into the lineage of the Messiah. Their inclusion reminds us that God is not limited by brokenness, unexpected circumstances, or imperfect people. Instead, He delights in bringing beauty from ashes and redemption from even the most difficult seasons. As we study these women, may we be encouraged to remember that the same God who lovingly wrote them into His story is still working through our stories today.
